CLIÉ Handheld: PEG-N760C
This is my PDA. (PDA: Personal Digital Assistant)
I bid for it on e-bay and won it on May 9, 2003 for $138.
It is made by Sony
I have been thinking about getting a PDA for a long time, but a really good one can set you back a few hundred dollars. Finally I decided to buy one. It needed a few things: Memory Stick compatibility (so I could see pictures taken with my camera), MP3 playback capability, and the usual to do list, calendar and note features (I was quite sick of re-writing my to do list and calendars on 3x5 cards).
After a bunch of research I decided to get this model.
Praises:
- I didn't realize that PDAs instantly turn on when the power button is pressed. Way cool.
- Playing MP3s will be quite handy when I don't feel like lugging my cd player around.
- It is wicked small yo! Even with the leather case it fits in my pocket with ease.
- The 'To Do' list, Calendar, and memo options are wicked awesome. I love not having to re-write things over and over now.
- The programs available for the Palm are nifty!
- I can view pictures, movies, play mp3s, view webpages, write in my LiveJournal.. Oh man... Cool.
Complaints:
- The included software viwer makes the pictures look fuzzy, until you 'convert' them on the PDA. Then they look good. I tried downloading a jpg viewer to see the pictures better and the only one I like costs $30 and is slow (3-4 seconds to load a picture).
- I already scrathed the display. = ( But it isn't that bad.
- CLIEs have a problem of getting dust inside the glass screen. There isn't a way to get it out and I have some dust in my screen now. It is obvious when viewing black backgrounds and stuff, but barely noticable for the regular bright to do list, calendar, et cetera.
- I need to get a better case. The included flip cover is a piece of junk. The leather one is okay, but I want to get a metal one.. How cool would that be!
